Basic Knowledge and Applied Technology Training in Semiconductors for 18 Participants
On the 16th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it started the 'Technology Academy-Bridge Program' course for nurturing talent in the advanced root industry from the 15th.
Now in its second year following last year, this program was established to cultivate field-oriented professionals based on industry demand-driven vocational training courses to address the shortage of skilled workers in advanced industrial technologies. The program is conducted in cooperation with universities that have related departments, aiming to develop skilled talents with expertise through linkage among high schools, universities, and companies, including support for employment at excellent local companies.

This training was conducted for 18 students, including nine third-year students from Icheon Jeil High School and nine third-year students from Dasan High School. The program provided education on basic knowledge of semiconductor and other advanced root industry process engineering, as well as various applied technologies. Classes will be held for two weeks until the 26th. Students will learn theories on digital signal processing such as electronic engineering and participate in practical classes related to equipment system operation.
Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon, said, "The technological gap in future promising industries, including semiconductors, depends on securing excellent talent," adding, "Icheon City will focus on systematically nurturing outstanding talent so that it can leap forward as a hub of advanced technology industries."
