Kolon Global Signs Business Agreement with Sejong Telecom and Hyuran to Introduce 'Core-Shared 5G Specialized Network Model'

Real-Time On-Site Analysis for Safety Accident Prevention

Kolon Global announced on the 16th that it signed a business agreement with Sejong Telecom and Huran on the 15th to introduce the 'Core Shared 5G Specialized Network Model,' the first of its kind in domestic construction sites.

The core shared 5G specialized network model, jointly promoted by the three companies, is a technology that connects the 5G main center and multiple construction sites in real time. It enables the real-time transmission of large volumes of data, allowing efficient on-site safety management through high-definition video analysis and large-scale AI CCTV installation. It is also effective in terms of technology security and cost reduction.

This will be demonstrated as part of the national project '5G B2B Service Activation,' led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA). It will be applied to the 52,000㎡ Merck bio project construction site currently underway by Kolon Global, with Sejong Telecom and Huran providing smart construction safety solutions that integrate AI technology based on 5G specialized network communication technology.

The signing ceremony held at Huran’s headquarters in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, was attended by Seonggyun Lim, Executive Director of Kolon Global, Kwangmo Lee, Head of Mobile Business Division at Sejong Telecom, and Chunsang Kim, CEO of Huran.

A Kolon Global official explained, “Through this business agreement, we will establish a cooperative system for smart construction safety solutions, significantly improving safety efficiency at construction sites,” adding, “We expect the application of the 5G specialized network to become an excellent case for effective disaster prevention.”

Meanwhile, Kolon Global established an integrated control center in 2022, linking CCTV systems from all domestic sites to monitor scattered site conditions in real time, thereby conducting proactive safety accident prevention activities across all sites.
