Delivery-Ordered Yubu Chobap... Turns Out to Be 'Bibim Sushi'
Customer Gives 2-Star Rating and Calls to Complain... Followed by Abusive Texts
A story has been shared about a customer who gave a 2-star rating because the delivered yubu chobap (tofu rice pouch) was different from the usual kind, and then received abusive language from the business owner.
On the 12th, a post titled "I ordered yubu chobap from a delivery app, can I report this?" was uploaded on an online community. The writer, A, who said she was the daughter of the customer, started by saying, "My mother ordered udon and yubu chobap for delivery, but the yubu chobap looked very different from the yubu chobap we know."
In the photos A shared, the rice balls are rolled round and seasoned with seaweed flakes, with yubu (tofu skin) cut into long strips placed on top. Typically, yubu chobap is rice stuffed inside the yubu, but the delivered yubu chobap required the customer to put the yubu on the rice or mix it themselves. The store's description also stated it was "yubu chobap to be mixed."
Because of this, A’s mother left a 2-star review for the store. The store owner immediately called her and asked, "Are you the one who gave 2 stars? Why did you give 2 stars?" The mother protested, saying, "The taste didn’t suit me, and what I received was not yubu chobap." The store owner scolded her, saying, "This is how we serve it."
The dispute over the yubu chobap continued. A said, "My mother first spoke informally, saying, 'Do you even know what yubu chobap is?' But then the store owner replied, 'I know. Did you even graduate elementary school?' and asked about my grandmother’s health." She added, "The store owner even told us to call the delivery app and used abusive language before abruptly hanging up."
According to A, her mother admitted to using informal language first and having a poor attitude, so she suggested not making a big deal to the delivery app. However, the store owner continued to obsessively follow A’s mother’s social media profile picture, kept making video calls, and showed persistent fixation on her even after the complaint call.
In the photos A shared, the store owner is seen sending abusive text messages, mentioning the phrase in A’s mother’s profile picture: "Did you leave the review sad because you were sad, happy because you were happy, or hurt because you were hurt?" and "Are you cowardly and cheap, terrorizing with reviews? You have nothing to say, so you speak rudely, curse, and run away. Are you mentally unstable?"
Netizens who saw the story reacted with comments such as, "Who would think that’s yubu chobap?", "Post the text message conversation with the review too," "Even if informal language was used first, that kind of verbal abuse is too much," "They must know the address, that’s scary," "Report this to the delivery app’s customer service quickly," "These days the world is dangerous, better move your mother’s address quickly," and "There is an explanation that it’s different from regular yubu chobap, but that attitude is unacceptable."
