Revitalizing the Digital Twin Industry in Busan
Dongseo University and Dong-A University have joined hands to promote the digital twin industry and jointly nurture talent at field campuses in connection with the Glocal University 30 Project.
The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Dongseo University (Director: Hwang Ki-hyun) and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Dong-A University (Director: Kim Sungjae) recently signed a “Business Agreement for the Activation of the Busan Digital Twin Industry and Joint Talent Development at Field Campuses” with Samwoo Immersion Co., Ltd., NextStage Co., Ltd., YouCanStar Co., Ltd., and PrimoM Co., Ltd. at the Global Room on the 11th floor of Dongseo University's New Millennium Hall.
According to the agreement, the participating institutions will collaborate and work together for mutual growth by ▲ establishing an industry-academic consultative body based on digital twin technology to jointly respond to the government’s “Digital Twin Korea” initiative ▲ and jointly operating field campuses to foster outstanding talent in response to the Glocal Project.
Digital twin technology is a technology that digitally implements physical objects or processes in the real world, enabling real-time monitoring and prediction of their operation, status, and performance.
It is evaluated as a next-generation technology that enhances innovation and efficiency, being utilized in various fields such as industrial automation, smart cities, mobility demonstration, architectural engineering R&D, smart factories, energy tech, and disaster safety.
Hwang Ki-hyun, Director of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at Dongseo University, said, “Dongseo University plans to focus on spreading digital twin technology.” Kim Sungjae, Director of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at Dong-A University, said, “We have high expectations for the integration of digital twin technology with the DX advancement of regional energy tech led by Dong-A University.”
Professor Park Youngjun (Department of Game Studies, Dongseo University), who planned the establishment of the Busan-type digital twin-based industry-academic consultative body, said, “We plan to build a global industry-academic consultative body beyond the region and campus to share various achievements based on Busan-type digital twin technology.”
Dongseo University, Dong-A University, and corporate representatives are signing an industry-academic cooperation agreement to promote the digital twin industry.
