Fasoo announced on the 16th that it has supplied its document protection solution, 'Fasoo Enterprise DRM (FED),' and the external collaboration platform 'Wrapsody eCo' to JCN A. Through this solution supply, Fasoo has significantly improved and advanced JCN A's drawing protection and collaboration environment.
JCN A is a construction company affiliated with the GS group, specializing in the construction of industrial facilities such as advanced factories and clean rooms. After carrying out various plant facility construction projects in Poland, China, Vietnam, and other countries, it has expanded its influence in the global market by entering the U.S. market.
Although JCN A had been protecting drawing files through an existing DLP solution, it required a more efficient and robust drawing file security solution to prevent leakage of important data containing intellectual property (IP) during external collaboration. In particular, protecting CAD files and collaborating on construction sites was a very challenging task due to issues such as real-time accessibility and usability, as well as the complex environment among partner companies. Accordingly, Fasoo established an environment where important data can be safely protected even at construction sites through FED and Wrapsody eCo.
FED provided by Fasoo continuously maintains encryption throughout the entire document management process. It allows restrictions on viewing, editing, printing, etc., according to set permissions, enabling efficient security management. Additionally, it provides file usage history and logs, allowing tracking and management of all processes from document creation to disposal. Notably, it offers the same level of data security in Mac environments as in Windows. It also supports CAD files, which are difficult to secure, making it a preferred choice for domestic and international companies aiming to protect design drawings accumulated with corporate IP.
Wrapsody eCo builds a safe and efficient external collaboration environment based on document virtualization technology. Documents are automatically synchronized to the latest version when viewed, improving work efficiency. Furthermore, all documents are encrypted when shared, and permissions can be changed or revoked at any time after sharing. In particular, permissions for externally shared documents can be immediately revoked as needed, minimizing the risk of external leakage. It easily integrates various collaboration channels such as email and Dropbox to maximize collaboration efficiency.
Choi Seung-wook, head of the IT team at JCN A, said, “We decided to utilize Fasoo’s solutions to protect drawing files containing important information more securely. Not only does it manage file permissions, but detailed history tracking is also possible, greatly enhancing visibility into file usage flow and management efficiency.”
Jo Gyu-gon, CEO of Fasoo, said, “Even amid ongoing issues of industrial technology and national core technology leakage, some construction sites have had exceptions due to special working environments and conditions that made it difficult to adopt security solutions. Fasoo deeply understands the characteristics of the construction industry and will actively support global construction companies through innovative technologies and know-how that maintain both security and convenience.”
