Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, has imposed and notified 2.8 billion KRW in regular property tax (buildings, houses, etc.) this year.
According to the county on the 16th, property tax is levied in July on owners of buildings and houses as of the tax base date (June 1 every year).
However, in the case of houses, if the annual amount exceeds 200,000 KRW, it is levied in two halves in July and September. For reference, in the upcoming September, property tax on land (non-residential land such as fields, paddies, and forests) will be imposed.
The payment period for this property tax is until the 31st of this month, and payment methods include direct payment at all financial institutions nationwide, payment by card or passbook at bank cash dispensers (CD/ATM), and payment via Wetax, virtual accounts (available even if not the owner), or mobile apps (Smart Wetax).
Seo Chigeun, head of the Finance Department of Gochang-gun, said, “Property tax is an important resource used for the welfare of residents and regional development as a county tax,” and added, “We ask taxpayers to pay within the deadline to avoid disadvantages such as late payment penalties.”
