The Win-Win Growth Committee and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries signed an agreement on the 16th to participate in the '2024 Partner Company ESG Support Project.'
The Win-Win Growth Committee and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries entered into the agreement to respond swiftly to the increasing demand for eco-friendly ships in the shipbuilding industry and the global emphasis on ESG.
Through this agreement, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will contribute 100 million KRW to the win-win cooperation fund and select customized ESG indicators for partner companies based on the Win-Win Growth Committee's SME ESG standard guidelines. Based on this, comprehensive support will be provided for partner companies' ESG management practices, including ESG education, diagnosis, and on-site inspection (consulting).
The Win-Win Growth Committee will issue an 'ESG Excellent SME Certificate' to partner companies with outstanding compliance rates for ESG indicators. Partner companies holding this certificate can receive incentives such as preferential interest rates, export support, and environmental energy technology assistance.
Since 2022, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has participated in the partner company ESG support project for three consecutive years, the first in the shipbuilding industry, supporting ESG education and consulting for 30 partner companies in 2022 and 20 companies in 2023. This year, the project will be conducted for 20 partner companies as well.
Oh Young-gyo, Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee, stated, "As the world's number one shipyard, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries continues to make great efforts to spread the culture of ESG management throughout the industry," adding, "We hope that many SMEs supported through the Win-Win Growth Committee's project will be able to establish a foundation for ESG management."
