Pilot operation in 5 districts in July ... Free inspection (lubrication, gear setting) ... Paid repairs available for tires, brakes, etc.
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will pilot the operation of a 'Visiting Bicycle Repair Center.'
The district will provide a 'bicycle repair service' at five community service centers throughout July for residents who have difficulty repairing bicycles due to the lack of nearby repair centers.
At the repair centers, basic inspections such as handlebar and chain checks, lubrication, and gear setting can be received free of charge.
If parts replacement is needed after inspection, such as tires or brakes, paid repairs are available upon payment for the parts.
The service will start at Yongsin-dong Community Service Center on July 15, followed by Jeonnong 2-dong on the 16th, Hwikyung 1-dong on the 17th, Dapsimni 1-dong on the 23rd, and Jangan 1-dong on the 24th. After the pilot operation in July, one additional session per district will be held.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the site. If the number of repair requests is high, the service may close early.
A district official said, "We have provided this repair service so that residents can safely use bicycles, an eco-friendly green transportation method," adding, "We will make various efforts to create a carbon-neutral city, Dongdaemun-gu, together with our residents."
