J.D. Baenseu Appointed as Vice Presidential Candidate
Former President Donald Trump was officially nominated as the Republican candidate ahead of the November presidential election.
The Republican Party officially nominated former President Trump as their presidential candidate at the convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the 15th (local time).
Following the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, former President Trump has become the Republican presidential candidate for the third time in 2024.
J.D. Vance, a U.S. Senator from Ohio, was chosen as the vice presidential candidate and running mate of former President Trump. Vance, 39 years old this year and a first-term senator, gained fame for his memoir "Hillbilly Elegy," which recounts his experience growing up in poverty in the Appalachian region of southern Ohio. Once an "anti-Trump," he switched to support former President Trump starting in 2018 and became friends with Trump's eldest son.
Former President Trump will deliver his acceptance speech as the presidential candidate on the 18th. A day earlier, on the 17th, Senator Vance will give his acceptance speech as the vice presidential nominee.
