Senior Officials and Researchers from Space Agencies of the US, China, Japan, and Other Countries Gather
The first international event since the establishment of the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA), the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) Scientific Assembly, was held in Busan on the 15th.

On this day, KASA announced that it hosted 'COSPAR 2024,' the world's largest international event in the field of space science, at BEXCO in Busan. The assembly opened grandly with the participation of over 2,600 researchers from around the world in the field of space science.
Attendees included representatives from space agencies such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the China National Space Administration (CNSA), and the United Arab Emirates Space Agency (UAESA), confirming that Korea's space authority has advanced its status following the launch of KASA.
At the assembly, Administrator Yoon held a series of high-level bilateral meetings with NASA, JAXA Space Science Institute, UAE Space Agency, CNSA, and others, strengthening the foundation for international cooperation.
In his opening remarks, Administrator Yoon emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation in space science and exploration and the shared prosperity of humanity through such collaboration, stating that Korea will also participate in achieving these goals.
After the opening ceremony, Administrator Yoon toured exhibition halls with key guests, including Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Korea Aerospace Research Institute, Boryung, NASA, Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) of the UAE. At the KAI booth, he received explanations about Lagrange point exploration, and at Boryung, he was briefed on the company's transformation from a pharmaceutical firm to a space enterprise and offered encouragement.

Following this, Administrator Yoon attended the joint meeting of space agencies, where trends of various countries' space organizations were shared and cooperation was discussed. He introduced the role and future direction of KASA and declared that KASA will actively engage in international activities.
Administrator Yoon stated, "It is highly meaningful that key figures from various countries gather at the world's largest forum for space science discussions prepared by Korea to share their goals and visions and discuss cooperation. To become an influential member of the international space community, we will actively promote cooperative activities centered on space exploration and space science, where international collaboration has now become essential."
