The Criminal Division 3 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Choi Soon-ho) announced on the same day that "since the jurisdiction over the residence and crime location exists and multiple related investigations and trials are ongoing, the case has been transferred to the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office."
This transfer was made at the request of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office. Earlier, the Criminal Division 2 of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office stated, "We are currently investigating five cases, including violations of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation) involving a famous YouTuber recently reported in the media," and added, "We requested the two prosecutors' offices, including the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office investigating the extortion case against the said YouTuber, to transfer each case." They further stated, "We will conduct a swift and strict investigation to uncover the truth and make a comprehensive disposition."
Regarding this, the YouTuber 'Gujaeyeok' (real name Lee Joon-hee), who is suspected of extorting money from Tzuyang, voluntarily appeared at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office for a prior consultation on the same day. Meeting with reporters, he said, "I request a thorough investigation to reveal the reality of the highest academic cartel in the Republic of Korea that is manipulating this case behind the scenes and to protect my personal safety," and denied the allegations of threatening Tzuyang, stating, "There is no such fact."
However, Gujaeyeok's voluntary appearance was not coordinated with the prosecution in advance, so no investigation was conducted.
