New drug development specialist Moa Life Plus announced on the 15th that it has signed a product supply contract with Malaysian company ‘BE International’ to expand exports of its cosmeceutical products containing its proprietary technology PGA-K (poly-gamma-glutamic acid-potassium) to the Southeast Asian market.
PGA-K, which has up to 8 times greater moisturizing power than hyaluronic acid, is being developed and sold not only as a new drug development pharmaceutical but also as a functional material for skin health. It has been recognized for its excellent quality through a patent registration for atopic skin cosmetic compositions in Japan and human trials in Germany, and is currently developing PGA-K products and exporting raw materials with a European global cosmetics company.
Moa Life Plus plans to launch a renewed version of the ‘BEYUL’ brand applying PGA-K with Malaysian company BE International by the end of this year. The ‘BEYUL’ cosmetics, which have accumulated supply results of 5 million USD to date, will be reborn as a new concept brand through a major renewal process.
BE International is based in Malaysia and has entered markets in Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Brunei, and plans to actively target the cosmetics market, which had slowed due to COVID-19, with K-Beauty products.
A Moa Life Plus official stated, “Along with recent contracts with European global luxury cosmetics companies, expansion into the Southeast Asian market is expected. This year, exports of 1.2 million USD are anticipated under the ‘BEYUL’ brand, and over 3 million USD next year. This is expected to serve as a foothold for expanding exports to the global market.”
