Chungnam Province to Provide 700 Million Won Support for Seosan Petrochemical Manufacturing Industry

Ministry of Employment and Labor Selected for Public Contest... Secures 500 Million Won in National Funding

Chungnam Province announced on the 15th that it has secured 500 million KRW in national funding after being selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's "Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support" program.

The province plans to invest a total of 705 million KRW to provide job retention subsidies, job leap incentives, and continued employment incentives for senior workers, targeting petrochemical manufacturing companies and workers located in Seosan City.

With this support, the working conditions in the struggling petrochemical manufacturing industry are expected to improve, and a collaborative development system with the local community is anticipated to be established.

A provincial official stated, "The Daesan Petrochemical Complex is one of the three major petrochemical complexes in Korea and a key area that has driven our country's petrochemical industry," adding, "Through this project, we aim to help improve the fundamentals of the petrochemical manufacturing sector."
