Advancement of User Experience and Content Creation·Management
EastAid (formerly Zoom Internet) announced on the 15th that it has acquired the content curation platform 'Pikicast' and the interactive content platform 'Bongbong.'
Pikicast led the snack culture trend and once surpassed 5 million monthly active users (MAU) with its unique mobile content. Bongbong has produced content that engaged over 600 million people globally, including titles such as 'When God Made Me' and 'Soulmate.' Recently, it has been operating numerous interactive contents like the MBTI personality test.
With this acquisition, EastAid has strengthened its content competitiveness and expanded its user base among young and global audiences. Based on the secured traffic, it plans to create synergy with Zoom.com in areas such as ad tech and rewards, thereby enhancing its business model.
Building on this, EastAid aims to accelerate its growth into an open AI portal. In collaboration with its parent company, EastSoft, a specialized artificial intelligence (AI) service company, it plans to build an AI-based recommendation system and provide personalized content to users. It also intends to introduce new services that maximize operational efficiency by utilizing generative AI technology in content creation and management.
Kim Namhyun, CEO of EastAid, said, "We acquired platforms with competitiveness in the content field to create synergy with the portal Zoom.com. We will quickly establish a foundation for performance improvement and leap forward as an open AI portal that grows together based on benefits."
