Over 100 Animal Hospitals in Canada Provided
Partnership with US MyVetImaging... Solution Validation
SK Telecom is set to officially introduce its AI-based pet diagnostic assistance solution, 'Excalibur,' in the North American market.
SKT announced on the 15th that it has signed a distribution agreement for Excalibur in Canada with Canadian pet medical equipment company Nuon&Nikki. Additionally, SKT has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with U.S. X-ray equipment distributor Myvet Imaging for the introduction of Excalibur.
Nuon&Nikki is a joint venture established in October last year by Canadian pet medical equipment company Nuon Imaging and radiology equipment and software manufacturer Nikki Health Solution.
Excalibur will be integrated with Nuon&Nikki’s veterinary imaging software 'Skyline PACS' and is scheduled to be provided to over 100 animal hospitals across Canada in August.
Mark Little, co-CEO of Nuon&Nikki, stated, "AI solutions have been noticeably increasing recently, and through collaboration with Excalibur, we hope to lead the AI era in the Canadian veterinary imaging market."
Furthermore, SKT has signed an MOU with U.S. veterinary imaging equipment distributor Myvet Imaging for the introduction of Excalibur into the U.S. market.
Following the signing of the MOU, the two companies have begun solution verification (PoC) at a large animal hospital located in New Jersey. SKT and Myvet Imaging have agreed to finalize a commercial contract within the third quarter of this year, reflecting the needs of U.S. animal hospitals.

SKT plans to further enhance the utility of Excalibur by adding two new AI automatic measurement solutions aimed at preventing heart disease in pets.
Following the existing VHS (Vertebral Heart Scale) automatic measurement, SKT will launch an AI-based VLAS (Vertebral Left Atrium Size) automatic measurement solution in the third quarter, which is another method to measure the heart size of pet dogs.
The VLAS function measures the size of the left atrium in canine chest radiographs, allowing verification of whether the dog's heart size is within the normal range. Clinical evaluation results show that VLAS accuracy is approximately 93% (compared to VHS accuracy of 97%), and this function was approved by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency on the 25th of last month.
An automatic measurement solution for CTR (Cardio-Thoracic Ratio), a heart size measurement method for pet cats, is also scheduled to be added in beta version form during the third quarter.
Son In-hyuk, head of SKT GS AIX, said, "Based on SKT’s AI capabilities, we will take the lead in widely promoting K-AI healthcare and providing innovative solutions that genuinely help pets."
