HanmiGlobal Receives Presidential Citation on Population Day

Operation of Marriage, Childbirth, and Parenting Support Measures Such as "Special Promotion for Third Childbirth"

HanmiGlobal, a PM (Construction Project Management) specialized company leading efforts to solve the low birthrate problem, received the Presidential Citation.


HanmiGlobal Receives Presidential Citation on Population Day

HanmiGlobal announced on the 15th that it was awarded the Presidential Citation at the 13th Population Day commemorative event hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare held on the 11th.


The Population Day award is given to individuals, corporations, and local governments that have contributed to the dissemination of population policies. The Ministry of Health and Welfare selects award-winning companies through document reviews, on-site inspections, and in-depth expert evaluations, targeting individuals, companies, and public institutions that have contributed to operating childbirth encouragement systems, creating work-family balance environments, and spreading a social atmosphere friendly to an aging society.


In June last year, HanmiGlobal announced an expansion of marriage, childbirth, and childcare support systems, including unconditional special promotions upon the birth of a third child. HanmiGlobal actively encourages marriage and multi-childbirth by providing △ a 100 million KRW housing purchase support loan to employees who get married △ one month of special paid maternity leave in addition to statutory leave and three months of paid parental leave △ recognition of childcare leave service for up to two years per child and eligibility for promotion for employees with two or more children △ unconditional promotion upon the birth of a third child △ childcare assistant support for one year upon the birth of a fourth child.


HanmiGlobal’s childbirth encouragement policy reflects Chairman Kim Jong-hoon’s philosophy that companies must take the lead in solving the serious low birthrate problem. Since 2010, HanmiGlobal has been promoting childbirth among its members by introducing mandatory parental leave systems. In February last year, it introduced a system that supports infertility treatment costs without limit on the number of treatments, and currently, all support policies are equally applied to single mothers, unmarried childbirth, and adoptive families to address the low birthrate problem.


Hyunsoo Park, Executive Director of HanmiGlobal’s HR team, said, “Encouraging childbirth in the workplace and creating a work-family balance environment also help improve employee job satisfaction and work productivity,” adding, “We will continue to actively strive to fulfill the role of a company that can contribute to the recovery of our society’s population.”
