Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) will once again provide free "Safety Equipment for Single-Person Households" this year to prevent crimes and various daily life risks for single-person households vulnerable to crime.

Last year, the district supported 268 female single-person households in the area with a set of three safety devices (▲Smart Doorbell ▲Home CCTV ▲Window Lock Device).

Additionally, in September last year, the district allocated supplementary budget to stabilize residents' living environments and provided an additional set of four safety devices, including a police whistle, to 280 single-person households in the area.

This year's set of four safety devices has been modified based on last year's user satisfaction survey. This year, the set includes ▲‘Smart Doorbell’ that allows real-time monitoring of the front door via mobile phone ▲‘Home CCTV’ that enables real-time monitoring of the interior of the house even when away ▲‘Front Door Safety Device’ that prevents external intrusion and door opening ▲‘Police Whistle’ with whistle and flashing light functions for use in emergencies.

The support targets approximately 500 single-person households vulnerable to crime residing in Gwanak-gu, and the eligibility criteria have been expanded compared to last year by abolishing standards such as the converted jeonse (lease) price.

In particular, the district plans to prioritize providing the equipment to single-person households who have experienced stalking or residential intrusion crimes.

To apply, download the required documents from the Gwanak-gu Office website (News & Notices → Latest News → Gwanak News) under the post titled ‘Safety Equipment Support Application for Single-Person Households,’ fill them out, and submit via email to the person in charge or by mail to the Women and Family Division of Gwanak-gu Office.

Meanwhile, the district is cooperating with the police station to provide stalking crime victims with ▲‘Smart Doorbell’ ▲‘Home CCTV’ ▲‘Front Door Safety Device’ ▲‘Voice Recognition Wireless Emergency Bell’ and other devices.

Also, among crime victims reported to 112, the district continues various crime victim support projects for residents' safety, such as providing emergency temporary protection for female victims of violence who require urgent protective measures.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “We will continue to promote the safety equipment support project reflecting residents' needs to alleviate daily anxieties and create a safe living environment,” adding, “We will do our best to make ‘Gwanak, a Safe City Without Crime’ where all residents can live with peace of mind.”
