Job Training and Employment Consulting Through Career Exploration

Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 15th that it will provide independent youth with career exploration and participation in job experience programs suited to their aptitudes, as well as employment opportunities.

Independent youth refers to young people who have left child protection facilities or foster homes and are becoming self-reliant. In these facilities, they are generally required to become independent upon turning 18.

Eunpyeong-gu supports independent youth to grow professionally through job training and employment consulting based on career exploration. They conduct aptitude tests and job exploration programs to help individuals discover their tendencies, talents, and capabilities. Additionally, one-on-one employment consulting and mock interviews are provided to enable company visits and job experience, aiming to lead to actual employment.

Eunpyeong-gu publicly accepts applications from local companies and supports job experience matching between outstanding local companies and independent youth. So far, 15 independent youth have applied, and 12 companies have expressed interest in participating.

Two independent youth aspiring to public service will work at the Eunpyeong-gu Office. The youth working at the district office will be helped to discover their professional capabilities by directly planning and managing projects.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “We will strive to be a strong support system for independent youth together with local companies in Eunpyeong-gu,” and added, “We will continue to actively support them so they can achieve practical independence in society.”
