On the 10th, Cho Myungrae, the Second Vice Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, departed on an overseas business trip and visited major defense industry companies in Poland as his first official schedule on the 11th to inspect sites of innovative growth.
WB Group is the largest private defense company in Poland and has been strengthening its defense alliance by signing a "cooperation agreement" with Hanwha Aerospace in Changwon. On this day, officials from Hanwha Aerospace's European branch also attended the visit.
The Lukasiewicz Institute is a defense industry research institute established by the Polish government, leading advanced research and development and innovative technologies. MACRO Robotics is a company achieving innovative results in the fields of robotics technology and automation systems.
On this day, Changwon City, together with Changwon National University, identified the latest technologies and operational status in the Polish defense industry sector and discussed policies in various fields that could be applied to Changwon's defense industry, seeking ways to enhance cooperation.
Vice Mayor Cho stated, "It was a meaningful opportunity to witness Poland's excellent defense industry and advanced technologies firsthand and to discuss the potential for cooperation with Changwon City. I expect that this visit will further strengthen defense industry collaboration among Poland, Changwon National University, and Changwon City."
He added, "Changwon is the largest defense industry cluster in Korea. To ensure continuous development, we will benchmark Poland's successful cases and incorporate them into city administration to develop Changwon into the top defense industry city in Northeast Asia."
