Emergency CPR... The First Step to Saving Lives

Centum General Hospital Conducts Training for All Employees

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a crucial emergency medical skill that can save lives in urgent situations. When breathing and heartbeat stop due to cardiac arrest, performing CPR quickly can greatly increase the chances of survival.

Emergency CPR... The First Step to Saving Lives Centum General Hospital conducted training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Centum General Hospital (Chairman Park Jongho, Director Park Namcheol) conducted CPR training for all staff members in the main auditorium on the 14th floor of the new building on the 11th and 12th.

This training was led by Bae Seokju, Secretary General of the Korea Injury Prevention Association, along with professional instructors from the association.

Cardiac arrest can occur suddenly, and when both the heart and breathing stop at the same time, it can lead to brain damage or death within minutes. At this time, appropriate CPR, such as chest compressions and artificial respiration, can maintain blood circulation and supply oxygen to the brain, thereby saving lives.

Bae Seokju, Secretary General of the Korea Injury Prevention Association and an expert in this field, emphasized, "If the brain is deprived of oxygen for 4 to 6 minutes, it begins to sustain damage. Even if the patient is transported to the hospital and the heart and breathing are stabilized, there can be aftereffects such as hemiplegia, vegetative state, or brain death," adding, "If you learn CPR in advance, you can help your family or those around you in an emergency and save lives."

In today's world, where various accidents and disasters occur frequently, CPR is an essential training, and its importance is increasing. The Korea Injury Prevention Association continues to provide CPR education to local organizations, groups, and schools, contributing to the strengthening of the social safety net.
