County Governor Jeong Jongbok, National Assembly Member Jeong Dongman, and Other Officials Attend

Sharing and Cooperating on Local Issues such as Attracting KTX-Eum Stop

On the 12th, Gijang County in Busan held the '2024 First Party-Government Council Meeting between Gijang County and the People Power Party' at the Gijang County Office briefing room.

The meeting was attended by Gijang County Mayor Jeong Jongbok, 16 senior officials from Gijang County, National Assembly Member Jeong Dongman, Busan Metropolitan Council Members Park Jongcheol and Lee Seungwoo, Gijang County Council Chair Park Hongbok, and all Gijang County council members from the People Power Party. They discussed major issues related to the welfare of Gijang residents and regional development, seeking ways for mutual cooperation.

Mayor Jeong Jongbok explained government and city-funded support projects as well as key pending issues, and requested active support from the party to secure national and city funds and to promote these projects.

Mayor Jeong and the attendees discussed active measures to secure national funding for projects such as the restoration and maintenance of Anjeoksa Traditional Temple, the creation of an ecological forest on idle railway land, the Southern Region Metropolitan Tourism Development Project, the installation of stormwater runoff reduction facilities at Jeonggwan Central Park, and the construction of a bypass road in Ilgwang New Town.

They also requested sufficient city funding to ensure smooth progress in expanding cultural facilities for residents and improving key regional transportation networks, including the construction of the Korea Baseball Museum, the development of Gijang-eup Living Sports Park, road construction between Daebyeon and Jukseong Intersection, the upper Suyeong River stream maintenance project, and the road expansion between Jwacheon Samgeori and Dongbusan Nonghyup.

In addition, discussions continued on long-awaited projects and major pending issues for residents, such as attracting a KTX-Eum stop, the Urban Railway Jeonggwan Line project, the introduction of a cultural and arts center on the former Korea Glass site (public contribution facility for cultural use), and the construction of a new Jeonggwan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.

In particular, the attendees shared updates and future plans for the county's most anticipated projects: attracting a KTX-Eum stop and the Urban Railway Jeonggwan Line project. They agreed to work closely together and pool their efforts to achieve the results that all residents hope for.

Mayor Jeong Jongbok stated, "Close consultation and joint response are necessary to resolve major county issues with the shared goal of Gijang County's development and residents' happiness," and requested "active support so that the government and city-funded projects and regional issues discussed at today's council meeting can proceed without setbacks."

National Assembly Member Jeong Dongman promised, "I will spare no effort to provide active support together with local city and county council members so that the county's key initiatives can proceed smoothly," and added, "I will communicate closely with Gijang County for the welfare of residents and regional development."
