By investor type, individuals and institutions were net buyers of 472.2 billion KRW and 82.9 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, foreigners were net sellers of 547.9 billion KRW.
By sector, machinery rose 1.92%. Additionally, textiles & apparel, pharmaceuticals, and construction sectors rose more than 1%. On the other hand, electrical & electronics and precision medical equipment fell more than 2%. Other sectors such as manufacturing, food & beverages, transportation & warehousing, and insurance declined more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 84,400 KRW, down 3,200 KRW (3.65%) from the previous trading day. SK Hynix fell 3.32%. Hyundai Motor and Samsung SDI also dropped more than 2%. Conversely, Celltrion and KB Financial rose more than 1%.
On this day, 428 KOSPI stocks rose without any hitting the upper limit, while 433 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit. Seventy-two stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 850.37, down 2.05 points (0.24%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners were net buyers of 84.5 billion KRW. In contrast, individuals and institutions were net sellers of 14.7 billion KRW and 53.4 billion KRW respectively.
By sector, finance rose 1.95%. Entertainment & culture, metals, and textiles & apparel recorded slight gains. Meanwhile, distribution fell 2.48%. Other sectors such as non-metallic minerals, machinery & equipment, and construction closed down more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 195,700 KRW, up 6,700 KRW (3.54%) from the previous trading day. Pearl Abyss surged 5.25%. EcoPro rose 3.15%. Celltrion Pharm and Ligand Chem Bio rose more than 2%. Conversely, HLB fell 5.69%. Samchundang Pharm closed down more than 3%.
On the KOSDAQ, Kolon TissueGene hit the upper limit price, with 666 stocks rising. Meanwhile, 882 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit, and 109 stocks closed unchanged.
