Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, stated that he will not run in the upcoming Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent election.
Deputy Prime Minister Lee made this remark on the 12th during the National Assembly Education Committee's plenary session when a related question was raised.

Park Sung-jun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, asked Deputy Prime Minister Lee, "There are concerns that the introduction of AI digital textbooks next year is being rushed. There are also suspicions that you might run in the superintendent election two years from now."
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Lee said, "The superintendent election is not in my mind at all," adding, "Regarding the concerns raised, I will manage them thoroughly to ensure there are no misunderstandings."
Earlier, during the Education Committee's work report, Deputy Prime Minister Lee explained, "We will prepare without fail for the introduction of AI digital textbooks that will lead teachers' class innovation," and added, "Starting next year with subjects such as math, English, and information for certain grades, we will expand the subjects and grades introduced and fully equip the digital education environment within schools."
