The Jeonnam Shinan Police Station (Chief Lee Eulsin) announced on the 12th that it held a 'Senior Protection Communication Council' meeting attended by related organizations to protect and support the elderly from issues such as solitary deaths and disappearances caused by the recent increase in elderly people living alone.
The meeting was attended by 13 representatives from a total of 11 organizations, including the Shinan-gun Resident Welfare Division, the Korean Senior Citizens Association Shinan Branch, the Jeonnam Western Elderly Protection Center, Shinan Senior Welfare Center, Shinan Women's Daily Life Guardians, and the Shinan-gun United Crime Prevention Corps.

The Shinan Senior Protection Communication Council plans to strengthen collaboration to resolve elderly-related crimes and blind spots arising in a super-aged society, and to carry out various discovery, protection, support, and prevention activities.
In particular, various organizations pledged ongoing efforts to actively identify seniors within Shinan who have mobility difficulties or are experiencing economic hardships, providing continuous management and assistance.
Through the meeting, Shinan County Office and related organizations promised customized welfare support and cooperation when identifying target individuals, and through this, the Senior Communication Council is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe daily lives of the elderly.
Chief Lee Eulsin stated, “With the increase in aging and elderly living alone, crimes related to solitary deaths and disappearances are rising, so the entire community must take an interest,” and pledged, “The Shinan Police Station will provide customized security services for seniors and support their peaceful daily lives.”
It is expected that through these multifaceted elderly protection and support activities, the safety net for the elderly in the Shinan area will be strengthened.
