Busan Office of Education to Hold 'Law King Golden Bell' for High School Students

Fostering Legal Literacy to Support the Growth of Mature Citizens

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yunsoo) will host the "2024 High School Legal King Golden Bell" competition at 2 p.m. on the 13th at Songbaek Hall, Dongnae Middle School, targeting 130 high school students from the Busan area.

Now in its third year, this competition aims to enhance students' legal literacy by solving various legal issues they may encounter in daily life through quizzes.

The Office of Education will conduct the competition in a survival format, featuring about 50 legal questions in various forms such as 'O·X', 'multiple choice', and 'short answer'. The last remaining student to ring the Golden Bell will receive the Superintendent's Award and a laptop, while the runner-up will be awarded the High Court Chief Judge's Award and a tablet PC.

The event will also feature congratulatory performances by dance clubs: 'DIOP' from Sungmo Girls' High School, 'Flutter' from Busan National University of Education High School, and 'Piquancy' from Busan Beauty High School.

Ha Yunsoo, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "This competition will be a meaningful opportunity for participating students to approach law and order in an easy and familiar way," adding, "I hope that through this event, our students will grow into mature democratic citizens with constitutional values and a sense of legal order."
