GreenPlus, a smart farm specialist company, announced on the 12th that it has signed a contract worth 2 billion KRW for a youth smart farm construction project in Gyeongsangnam-do.
According to this smart farm contract, GreenPlus will build a greenhouse smart farm for cucumber cultivation on a 7,778㎡ (2,353 pyeong) site in Apsa-ri, Jisu-myeon, Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.
GreenPlus provides one-stop services including design, materials, and construction necessary for smart farm buildings, and currently holds the largest domestic track record for youth smart farms and Innovation Valley construction.
Youth smart farms and smart farm Innovation Valleys are representative domestic smart farm support policies by the government. Last month, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport jointly held a meeting to discuss expansion plans for overseas joint advancement of smart farms and construction machinery, and discussed specific support measures for the K-Smart Farm.
This year, Gyeongsangnam-do presented key policy directions to transform agriculture into a high value-added future growth industry. The main policy directions include ▲ spreading smart agriculture ▲ expanding the influx of young farmers and providing customized support ▲ strengthening competitiveness to lead future agriculture.
According to Market and Markets, the global smart agriculture market is expected to grow annually by 9.4% to reach 25.4 billion USD (approximately 35 trillion KRW) by 2028. Accordingly, the government is actively supporting the development of the smart farm industry.
Jung Soon-tae, CEO of GreenPlus, said, “The youth smart farm support policy is a core part of the government’s smart farm expansion policy along with the smart farm Innovation Valley,” and added, “New smart farm orders are increasing significantly in line with the government and local governments’ smart farm development policies.”
