Naver has added a feature to its weather service that allows users to receive notifications about typhoon paths and regional report replies.
On the 12th, Naver newly added typhoon path and report talk reply notifications to its weather alerts.
The typhoon path notifications send push alerts divided into the time when the typhoon starts affecting Korea and the time it reaches Korea. Clicking on the typhoon alert directs users to the typhoon service page, where they can check detailed typhoon paths, estimated arrival times by route, and typhoon intensity on a map.
A new notification feature was also added to the weather report talk, which allows users to share regional reports during meteorological disaster situations. If a reply is posted within 24 hours to a weather report talk written by a user, the user can receive a notification. Report talk reply notifications can be received by turning ON the 'Report Talk Reply Notification' in the disaster alert settings under the weather alert types in the Naver app.
Earlier, Naver added observation information menus for precipitation and snowfall amounts to the weather map. Users can easily check nationwide precipitation conditions via the smartphone application, and by zooming in on the map, they can see precipitation information for smaller administrative units such as eup, myeon, and dong. Precipitation data is provided based on 1-hour accumulation as standard, along with daily accumulation values, and the data is updated every hour on the hour.
Additionally, when heavy rain falls across the country, Naver operates a 'Heavy Rain Page/Report Talk' section to support users in sharing and communicating weather-related information in real time.
