The police have launched an investigation after a post threatening to kill the minor daughter of famous YouTuber and former webtoon artist Chimchakman (real name Lee Byeong-geon) was uploaded. The law firm 'Young,' representing Chimchakman, stated that they will take strong legal action as soon as the identity of the poster is revealed.

On the 11th, the law firm Young said, "On the 9th, a post threatening to kill Chimchakman's child was made on an online community," adding, "Chimchakman, through his legal representatives, promptly requested a strong investigation and personal protection from the authorities, and will take strict legal measures once the poster's identity is confirmed."

They continued, "Over the past few years, socially unacceptable and severe malicious comments and posts about Chimchakman's family have been continuously written and spread on communities and other platforms," explaining, "Recently, there have been criminal acts that cannot be overlooked, such as threats to the safety of his minor child."

They emphasized, "From now on, we will respond firmly to any malicious acts related to the family without any leniency or settlement."

On the same day, the Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced that they have begun investigating the poster who wrote a message threatening to wield a weapon against Chimchakman's daughter. The poster is suspected of uploading the murder threat on the online community 'DC Inside' at around 9:34 p.m. on the 9th. The police received the report on the 10th, a day after the post was made, and are currently identifying the poster.

Previously, Chimchakman gained public recognition as the webtoon artist 'Lee Mal-nyeon.' He gained popularity with works such as 'Lee Mal-nyeon Samgukji.' His YouTube channel also has about 2.5 million subscribers and is very popular. In the past, his broadcasts featured family members such as his daughter and younger sibling.
