Jungang Line High-Speed Train Stops at Sangbong Station... Ryugyeonggi Jungnang-gu Mayor's 8th Term Pledge Fulfillment Rate at 48% 'Smooth Sailing'

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the '2024 8th Term Elected Mayor Pledge Project Report Meeting' on the 11th to review the fulfillment of promises made to residents.

At the meeting, attended by Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi and over 70 department heads, the progress of the 8th term elected mayor pledge projects was reviewed, and in-depth discussions were held on the direction of the second half of the district administration and measures to supplement the pledge projects.

Out of a total of 124 projects, 60 have been completed, showing a fulfillment rate of 48.4%, progressing smoothly.

Major completed projects include ▲the Central Line high-speed train stopping at Sangbong Station ▲the construction of Jungnang Yangwon Media Center ▲the designation of Bongu Alley-type Shopping District.

The remaining 64 projects are also being carried out without delay.

The district plans to complete projects such as ▲the construction of Hwarang Village Senior Center ▲the construction of Youth Culture and Arts Creation Center ▲the construction of complex offices in Myeonmok 7-dong and Junghwa 2-dong by the end of this year.

In particular, in June, the construction of the 2nd Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center began, and the long-awaited Myeonmok Line light rail project passed the preliminary feasibility study. Additionally, 26 sites covering 1.59㎢, the largest number and area among Seoul's autonomous districts, were selected as candidates for housing development by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Seoul City, accelerating the progress of pledge projects.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “As we reach a turning point in the 8th term, I ask that pledge projects be managed more meticulously so that residents can feel proud changes close to their daily lives. We will do our best to ensure that the promised projects are carried out solidly to realize ‘My Pride, Our Jungnang.’”

In May, the district once again proved itself as a reliable district in keeping promises by receiving the highest (SA) grade for the fourth consecutive year in the ‘8th Term Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
