According to the survey results on mobile AI acceptance revealed at the Galaxy AI Media Forum "Salon de AI" held in Paris, France on the 11th (local time), 76% of Koreans responded "yes" to the question of whether they wish to use mobile AI. The global average was 52%, with South Korea showing the highest mobile AI acceptance among the five countries surveyed.
The research conducted last month by Samsung Electronics in collaboration with the Goldsmiths Business Research Institute at the University of London surveyed a total of 5,000 adults aged 18 and over from five countries: South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France (1,000 per country) in the form of a questionnaire.
It was found that people who frequently use mobile AI are about 1.4 times more likely to rate their quality of life higher than those who do not. They used AI to gain new perspectives and possibilities, to improve overall knowledge, and to communicate in other languages.
Chris Brower, Ph.D., from the Goldsmiths Business Research Institute at the University of London, who conducted the study, stated, "In the past, people perceived AI as a tool to assist with one-dimensional tasks, but now they are beginning to discover its potential to help in all aspects of human life, including self-development."
Samsung Electronics announced plans to provide Galaxy AI experiences to approximately 200 million mobile devices through AI updates for previously released products, including the newly unveiled Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. Vice President Choi said, "We will introduce more innovative AI technologies with human-centered AI."
The forum featured Samsung Electronics MX Division Development Director (Vice President) Wonjun Choi, Qualcomm CMO Don McGuire, and Google Gemini UX President Jenny Blackburn on stage, with over 350 global media representatives in attendance.

Samsung Electronics and its mobile AI development partners Google and Qualcomm emphasized the importance of open collaboration between companies for innovative development. Wonjun Choi, Vice President and Development Director of Samsung Electronics MX Division, said, "Qualcomm has the industry's best processing technology, but platform development was made possible through collaboration with partners like Samsung Electronics, who provide consumer insights and innovative technologies." Samsung Electronics has over one billion mobile product users.
Vice President Choi added, "Qualcomm has collaborated with Samsung Electronics to develop on-device AI, enabling users to enjoy AI experiences without worrying about information leakage."
Jenny Blackburn, Vice President of Google Gemini UX, who is collaborating with Samsung Electronics on mobile AI development, said, "Google has worked closely with Samsung Electronics since the early days of the Android platform. The Gemini features included in this new product were also developed with a focus on a human-centered approach."
She also stated, "Google and Samsung Electronics have collaborated since the importance of mobile AI increased to include the 'Circle to Search' feature for the first time in the Galaxy S24 series. The innovative AI experience was born from the two companies jointly considering AI-enabled devices, timing of entry, and seamless connection experiences."
At the forum, Samsung Electronics emphasized hybrid AI for security and privacy protection. Hybrid AI is AI that can utilize both on-device and cloud capabilities. Samsung Electronics provides an option in settings to process data only on the device for cloud AI functions where user data passes through online servers.
Vice President Choi said, "Samsung Electronics will continue to collaborate with partners, government agencies, and others to ensure that more people can enjoy the benefits of Galaxy AI technology while protecting individual privacy and security."
