Seocheon County Allocates 1.3 Billion Won in Emergency Reserve Funds for Heavy Rain Damage Restoration On the 10th, an extreme rainfall of 204.5mm poured down in Seocheon, Chungnam, causing significant damage such as flooding of farmland and road washouts.

Seocheon County in Chungnam Province announced that it has allocated 1.3 billion KRW from its reserve funds for recovery efforts following extreme heavy rainfall.


The reserve funds will be used to support emergency disaster recovery, including equipment rental fees and the operation of disaster relief volunteers.


On the 10th alone, the county suffered damages from 204.5mm of extreme rainfall in a single day, resulting in destroyed homes, flooding of 4,453.4 hectares of crops, and the death of 121,000 livestock.

County Governor Kim Kiwoong said, "The disaster site is so devastating that I am deeply concerned about how heartbroken our residents must be," adding, "We will actively propose to the government for the designation of a special disaster zone and the allocation of emergency funds so that residents can return to their daily lives without further damage."
