Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 11th that it has been selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the '2024 Disaster Management Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Disaster Management Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to diagnose the key capabilities at each stage of disaster management of 338 disaster management responsible institutions nationwide, including central government agencies, local governments, and public institutions. Based on the evaluation scores, institutions are classified into three grades: excellent, average, and poor.
Eunpyeong-gu was selected as an excellent institution in the 2024 Disaster Management Evaluation following last year, receiving the Minister's Commendation, special grants, and rewards. In this evaluation, Eunpyeong-gu received high marks in all areas including common, preparedness, and response. In particular, it showed outstanding performance in managing the disaster management fund, stockpiling disaster management resources, and disaster preparedness training.
District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, "Since disasters can occur anytime and anywhere, it is important to have a perfect disaster preparedness system in place at all times," and added, "We will continue to firmly strengthen the district's disaster management capabilities and do our best to make Eunpyeong-gu a safe place."
