Paris Olympic Athletes Take 'Selfies' with Galaxy Phones on the Podium

Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition,' created in collaboration with luxury LVMH group brands, was unveiled on the 10th (local time) at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in Paris, France.

As an official partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Samsung Electronics specially produced the Olympic Edition for the Paris Olympic participating athletes. It is expected that athletes standing on the podium will capture their glorious moments themselves using this product.

Samsung Electronics will provide the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to all 17,000 Paris Olympic athletes. Through Galaxy's artificial intelligence (AI) features, athletes from various countries will be able to communicate without language barriers and vividly share the excitement of the Olympics with fans worldwide.

This Olympic Edition features a sleek and slim design of the Galaxy Z Flip6, adorned with a golden Olympic and Paralympic emblem and the Samsung logo.

The exclusive flip suit case was completed in collaboration with Berluti, the luxury menswear brand of the LVMH group that designed the French national team's opening ceremony outfit. The design expresses the Olympic spirit and the value of harmony by combining Berluti's unique leather dyeing technique called Patina with a color scheme inspired by the Olympic rings.

The Galaxy Z Flip6 enables communication without language barriers through dual-screen translation and real-time voice translation during calls. Using Instant Slow Motion and Photo Assist, athletes can capture the preparation process and the atmosphere of the Olympic venue more enjoyably and share it with fans.

Samsung Electronics also provides applications and services for athletes' convenience in collaboration with various Olympic partners. Working with Orange, the official telecommunications partner of the Paris Olympics, Samsung offers an eSIM with 100GB of 5G data usage.

The Olympic Edition device comes pre-installed with various official Olympic apps useful for athletes, such as 'Athlete 365,' which provides the latest Olympic information, and 'Paris 2024,' containing information about Paris Olympic events and sightseeing and living in Paris.

Samsung Wallet includes an 'In-App Pass' that allows free access to Coca-Cola beverage vending machines installed in the Olympic Village, and also provides the '?le-de-France Mobility' transportation card for unlimited use of public transportation around Paris.

In cooperation with the IOC, Samsung Electronics operates the 'Victory Selfie' program, allowing athletes who stand on the podium for the first time in Olympic history to capture their glorious moments themselves. Previously, all personal belongings, including mobile phones, were prohibited at Olympic award ceremonies, but through 'Victory Selfie,' athletes can capture the thrill of victory directly with the 'Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition.' Photos taken via Victory Selfie are linked in real-time to the 'Athlete 365' app, enabling athletes to easily download their photos.

The Olympic Edition will be exhibited starting from the 12th (local time) at the Samsung Olympic Experience Center located on the Champs-?lys?es in Paris, France.
