Germany, Canada, and Over 10 Countries Hold Series of Bilateral Talks
President Yoon Suk-yeol arrived in Washington DC, USA on the 10th (local time) to attend the 2024 North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit.
On the same day, President Yoon is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with leaders from more than 10 countries, including Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Finland, Japan, Norway, and the United Kingdom.

It is also reported that a summit meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio is highly likely to take place. In the evening, President Yoon and his wife Kim Keon-hee will attend a social dinner hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden and the First Lady.
On the 11th, President Yoon will participate in the NATO Indo-Pacific 4 (IP4) leaders' meeting with South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as the main NATO Summit.
He will also attend the NATO Public Forum, co-hosted by NATO and five think tanks from the U.S. and Europe, where he will deliver a speech as the sole speaker in the Indo-Pacific session.
At this NATO Summit, President Yoon is expected to send a critical message regarding military cooperation between North Korea and Russia and to promote solidarity with countries sharing universal values and the international community.
President Yoon is the first South Korean president in history to attend the NATO Summit for three consecutive years.
