Nonsan Mayor Baek Seonghyeon instructed on the 10th, in relation to the heavy rainfall, "Deploy all available equipment to swiftly carry out emergency restoration to prevent secondary damage such as river embankment collapse."


On this day, Mayor Baek visited sites affected by soil runoff and embankment collapse, and ordered, "Respond with a 'take action first, report later' system for areas that require urgent restoration, reflecting the urgent situation on the ground."


At 12:40 a.m. that day, the city issued a heavy rain warning, switched to a level 2 emergency duty system, and took measures to ensure the safety of residents by maintaining an emergency contact system with the heads of 15 towns and villages and each village chief.

Around 1 p.m., Mayor Baek requested active support at the provincial level from Kim Taeheum, Governor of South Chungcheong, who visited the Nonsancheon embankment, which was at risk of damage due to piping phenomena.


He also visited Bujeok Elementary School and the village hall, where around 200 residents from villages near the Nonsancheon embankment had evacuated, and promised prompt support for essential supplies and other necessities for the residents.

Due to the recent heavy rainfall, five roads including Sido 4 in Gayagok-myeon were washed away, resulting in the suspension of nine bus routes.


Additionally, it was tentatively tallied that there was damage to embankments and riverbanks at eight locations including Geomcheoncheon, as well as soil runoff and fallen trees at sixteen locations including Gamgok-ri in Bujeok-myeon.
