Gokseong-gun Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in Disaster Management Evaluation

Awarded Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation, Secured Financial Incentive

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that it has been selected as an "Excellent Institution" for two consecutive years in the disaster management evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and will receive the Minister's Commendation.

The disaster management evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by the Minister of the Interior and Safety to diagnose the key capabilities of disaster responsibility agencies such as central government departments, public institutions, and local governments at each stage of disaster management (prevention, preparedness, response, recovery), aiming to enhance the national level of disaster management.

The county received excellent evaluations in indicators such as 'appropriateness of disaster management organization and personnel operation,' 'formation, role assignment, and proficiency of disaster response task forces,' and 'actual disaster and accident response cases.'

With this selection, Gokseong-gun will receive the Minister's Commendation from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety along with financial incentives such as rewards and special grants.

A county official stated, "We will not be satisfied with this evaluation result and will continuously improve the insufficient areas," adding, "We will further strengthen the disaster management system that prioritizes the safety of our residents."
