Gwangjin-gu and SC Jeil Obstetrics and Gynecology Donate 20 Million Won for Neighbor Assistance

Gwangjin District Office (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held a donation ceremony to deliver 20 million KRW for the "Gwangjin Miracle Start" neighbor-helping fund in collaboration with SC First Women's Hospital (Director Hong Jae-sik).

"Gwangjin Miracle Start" is a project that simultaneously promotes a culture of donation and supports low-income families. In July of last year, Gwangjin District signed a business agreement with SC First Women's Hospital and the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation to conduct regular donation campaigns.

This campaign, called the "First Donation for Newborns," was initiated to encourage donation activities alongside birth celebrations. The first donation is sponsored in the name of the baby born at SC First Women's Hospital, and a "Sharing Certificate" is awarded as a commemorative token. So far, 318 families with newborns have participated, helping to spread the culture of sharing.

SC First Women's Hospital continued its second donation this year. The 20 million KRW received last year was used to assist vulnerable groups, including living expenses for single-parent families, scholarships for youth, and health care for the elderly.

The donation ceremony held on the 9th at Gwangjin District Office was attended by Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, Director Hong Jae-sik, and Kang Sung-gu, Secretary General of the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation. Director Hong Jae-sik said, "I am pleased to deliver the second donation. I hope it can contribute, even in a small way, to the various welfare projects promoted by Gwangjin District."

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin District said, "I sincerely thank SC First Women's Hospital for their warm sharing to help neighbors in need," adding, "We will do our best to create a happy and bright community, just like the blessed moment when a child is born."

The donated funds received that day were entrusted to the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation. They will be used to promote the stability of vulnerable groups' lives, including the "Supporting 200 Households Project," which supports the self-reliance of households in crisis.
