Suncheon-si and Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Sign Mutual Cooperation Agreement
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Nogwan-gyu) announced that it will actively promote the 2024 Small Business Employment Insurance Premium Support Project to stabilize the management of small business owners in the region and strengthen the social safety net.
The "Employment Insurance Premium Support Project for One-Person Small Business Owners" is a system where the Ministry of SMEs and Startups supports 50-80% of the insurance premium through the Small Enterprise and Market Service according to the standard wage grade, and the city supports 20%, allowing one-person small business owners to receive up to 100% support for their insurance premiums.
The support target is one-person small business owners located in Suncheon City who have subscribed to employment insurance for self-employed workers. Small business owners must first enroll in employment insurance at the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service and then apply for support to Suncheon City.
Applications will be accepted at the Small Business One-Stop Support Center from July 15 to October 31, and the support funds will be paid after quarterly settlement.
In addition, to ensure smooth project implementation, the city signed a business agreement with the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service (Director Park Jong-gil) on the 10th.
Under this agreement, the city will support small business employment insurance premiums, and the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service will share information on employment insurance subscribers and insurance premium payment records, actively participating in promotional activities such as posting notifications on the Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total Service to revitalize the project.
A city official said, "This project will contribute to strengthening the social safety net and alleviating the management burden of one-person small business owners," adding, "We will continue to prepare various support measures to create a stable management environment for small business owners."
Meanwhile, the city is promoting various small business support policies, including providing 15 billion KRW in small business policy funds this year to stabilize the livelihoods and management of small business owners and supporting up to 5% of the loan interest for two years.
