The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 10th that it held a ‘Meeting with SMEs Invited by LH President Lee Han-jun’ at the Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, Seoul.

This meeting was organized to seek win-win measures between LH and SMEs by addressing difficulties related to LH deliveries raised by the SME sector. From the SME side, six chairpersons of related cooperatives, including Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Federation of SMEs, and Bae Jo-ung, Chairman of the Korea Ready-Mixed Concrete Industry Cooperative Federation, attended. From LH, President Lee and Jung Woon-seop, Head of the Smart Construction Division, participated.

The SMEs proposed five on-site difficulties: cooperation in designating items for direct purchase of construction materials, active utilization of the linked payment system for delivery payments, implementation of standardized elevator specifications and cost calculation, priority application of multiple supplier contracts for synthetic resin windows, and relaxation of the permeability coefficient conditions for LH-ordered permeable blocks.

In response, President Lee said, “I appreciate the hard work of SMEs playing a key role despite the difficult construction market conditions,” and added, “We will seek ways to achieve the goal of supplying high-quality housing through win-win cooperation with SMEs.”

Chairman Kim stated, “As of last year, LH’s purchase amount of SME products was 9 trillion won, ranking first among public institutions, making it a very important institution for SMEs, especially as a key demand institution purchasing items for direct purchase of construction materials,” and emphasized, “Direct purchase of construction materials is a system that prevents SMEs from becoming mere subcontractors, blocks unfair subcontracting transactions, and prevents the inflow of low-quality foreign materials. We expect LH to actively cooperate in designating target items so that SMEs and LH can grow together.”
