The Jeonbuk Jeongeup Citizens Scholarship Foundation announced on the 10th that it is recruiting scholarship students for the Outstanding Talent Scholarship, which contributes to the development of the local community and leads the future.
Eligibility requires that applicants be university students who have been residing in Jeongeup City for more than one year as of the announcement date, are children of parents with a registered address in Jeongeup, have completed at least 9 credits per semester, and have a grade point average converted to a percentile score of 85 or higher.

As a pledge of Mayor Lee Hak-su in the 8th elected term, the number of selected students will be increased by 20 compared to the previous year, selecting a total of 170 students (139 four-year university students, 31 junior college students), and the number of selected students is planned to be expanded to 200 by 2026.
The scholarship amount provided to students is 2.2 million KRW for four-year university students and 1.8 million KRW for junior college students, totaling 361.6 million KRW. Final scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic performance and living conditions according to the foundation’s selection criteria.
Applicants should prepare the scholarship application form and required documents and submit them by visiting the parents’ or guardians’ resident registration local community service center (eup, myeon, or dong office) from the 15th to the 24th.
The final successful candidates will be announced on the Jeongeup Citizens Scholarship Foundation website on the 14th of next month. For more details, please refer to the announcement on the Jeongeup City or the Citizens Scholarship Foundation website.

Meanwhile, the Citizens Scholarship Foundation started the Outstanding Talent Scholarship program in 2001 and has provided scholarships totaling 3.7 billion KRW to about 2,800 scholarship students to date.
