Revolver, Cross, Zombie Bus 2 and More Unveiled
Kakao Entertainment (hereinafter Kakao Entertainment) unveiled its lineup for the second half of this year on the 10th. The company aims to strengthen its multi-studio system and create synergy through story and music businesses as well as IP (intellectual property) crossovers.
The film "Revolver" (directed by Oh Seung-wook), starring actors Jeon Do-yeon, Ji Chang-wook, and Lim Ji-yeon, will be released on the 7th of next month, and "Cross," starring Hwang Jung-min and Yum Jung-ah, will be available on the OTT platform Netflix in August. The Disney+ series "Gangnam B-Side," featuring Jo Woo-jin and Ji Chang-wook, and the second season of Netflix's "Gyeongseong Creature," which was introduced last year, will be released in the second half of the year. Variety content is also notable. Netflix's "Zombie Bus" season 2, which combines K-zombie and variety, will be released in the second half of the year, and another Netflix variety show, "The Influencer," will premiere on August 6.
Kakao Entertainment stated, "We plan to produce and plan over 40 dramas, movies, and variety shows this year." They will present the Disney+ series "Nine Puzzle" (directed by Yoon Jong-bin), starring Kim Da-mi and Son Seok-gu; the Netflix series "Bad Connection," starring Park Hae-soo and Shin Min-a; and the Netflix series "I Was Completely Fooled," featuring IU and Park Bo-gum. They will also produce a drama of the same name based on KakaoPage's popular web novel "The Call You Just Made."
