Applications Open July 1?August 8 for Two Categories: Drawing and Webtoon for Elementary Students in Guro-gu
Guro District Office (Mayor Moon Heon-il) is hosting the ‘2nd Korea Digital Awards GURO’.
Co-hosted with the Korea Digital Complex Entrepreneurs Association (a nonprofit organization) and supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, this contest is designed to raise interest and awareness by holding a competition themed around G-Valley and the 4th Industrial Revolution for elementary school students, the future dreamers.
This year’s contest covers two categories: drawing and webtoon, focusing on ▲the future Guro (G-Valley) transformed by advanced technology ▲and the 60-year history of the industrial complex evolving from Guro Industrial Complex to a digital complex.
Participants must be elementary school students residing in Guro District. Awards will be given as follows: ▲Grand Prize, one per category ▲Excellence Award, two for drawing and one for webtoon ▲Merit Award, seven for drawing and three for webtoon ▲and Honorable Mention, within 20% of the total entries.
Students wishing to participate can submit their works and documents in person at the Guro District Office Regional Economy Division or by mail from July 1 to August 8.
The results will be announced on August 16 on the Guro District Office website and notified individually.
The award ceremony is scheduled for 4 PM on September 6 at the G-Valley Business Plaza L Convention, and the winning works will be exhibited at the G-Valley Industrial Museum located in G Tower within the Digital Complex from September 10 to 21.
Mayor Moon Heon-il of Guro District said, “I hope this competition becomes an opportunity to instill pride and motivation in local elementary students and establish itself as a sustainable cultural event,” adding, “We look forward to your active interest and participation.”
