Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is operating the ‘Social Economy One-Day Class’ program for Gwangjin residents in collaboration with social economy enterprises in the area.
Social economy refers to economic activities that pursue both individual profit and social value simultaneously. The district previously operated a one-day class in 2022 to raise residents' awareness of the social economy and promote excellent products from social economy enterprises.
This year, until the end of August, experiential programs such as ▲ Ttukttakttuk Healing Woodworking ▲ Animation and Webtoon Creation ▲ Making Personalized Pet Leather Keyrings and Coffee Clay Keyrings Using Mother-of-Pearl will be offered.
Classes will be held at the Gwangjin-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center (Gwangjin Economy Hub Center, Gwangnaru-ro 478) or at workshops of social economy enterprises. Participants can make products themselves and learn about the values pursued by social economy enterprises.
Residents wishing to participate can apply online according to the recruitment period for each class. Each class will accept 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. For detailed information such as recruitment schedules, please refer to the Gwangjin-gu Office website. Anyone who is a resident of Gwangjin-gu or works (or studies) at a workplace (or school) located in Gwangjin-gu can participate in the Social Economy One-Day Class free of charge.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We provide one-day classes in connection with various social economy enterprises to enhance Gwangjin residents’ awareness of the social economy,” and added, “We hope many people will show interest and participate in the ‘Social Economy One-Day Class’ program, where they can directly create high-quality products.”
