Gangnam District Council announced on the 9th that it has elected Lee Ho-gwi, a member of the People Power Party (representing Suseo-dong and Segok-dong), as the chairperson to lead the second half of the 9th term, and Bok Jin-kyung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Samsung 1·2-dong and Daechi 2-dong), as the vice-chairperson.
On the morning of the same day, the Gangnam District Council held a vote during the 320th extraordinary session to elect the chairperson team for the second half of the 9th term. Both Chairperson Lee Ho-gwi and Vice-Chairperson Bok Jin-kyung were elected by securing 12 out of 23 total votes each.
Chairperson Lee Ho-gwi stated, “I solemnly accept the heavy responsibility and duty of the chairperson position and promise to carry out my role faithfully,” adding, “I will actively communicate with the council members to create a mutually respectful Gangnam District Council for the second half of the 9th term, based on cooperation, harmony, and trust.”
Vice-Chairperson Bok Jin-kyung said, “I will faithfully serve as a bridge between the chairperson team and the council members and do my best to build a council trusted by the residents.”
