The previous day, three workers died in separate accidents at workplaces in the Gyeongnam region, prompting investigations by the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor.


According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the police on the 9th, at around 8:10 a.m. on the 8th, a Pakistani man in his 20s, identified as A, died after being struck by a roughly 1-ton steel plate that fell while tilting at a painting factory in Changnyeong-gun.


A, who was working on painting under the steel plate at the time, was rushed to the hospital but ultimately passed away.


On the same day at around 12:30 p.m., a Vietnamese man in his 30s, identified as B, died after getting caught in a machine that mixes textile materials at a textile manufacturing plant in Gunbuk-myeon, Haman-gun.


B, who was working alone at the time, suffered the accident when his lower body was pulled into the machine.


At around 3 p.m. that day, a bundle of steel wire coil weighing 1 ton toppled over in the yard of an auto parts manufacturing plant in Sangdong-myeon, Gimhae-si, crushing a man in his 60s, identified as C, who was working nearby.


C, who was checking the specifications of the coil bundle when the accident occurred, suffered severe head and other injuries and was found dead at the scene.


The police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor are investigating the exact circumstances of the accidents and whether there were any violations of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act by company officials.
