Introducing Original Character 'Pubilla' Mobile Game
Aiming at Game Enthusiasts, Targeting Increased App User Inflow
Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 9th that starting from the 11th, it will introduce the ‘Puvilla Game Land’ section featuring its own character ‘Puvilla’ on the department store’s mobile application (app). This is part of a plan to increase customer inflow by integrating Puvilla with games.
Shinsegae Department Store has revamped its mobile app game section to present a series of games using the fluffy character ‘Puvilla,’ which resembles a white bear. Through this, customers are expected to enjoy fun moments by playing games during their free time or while waiting in areas such as the food court. Additionally, as the number of customers using the game section increases, it is anticipated that the overall customer inflow within the Shinsegae Department Store mobile app will naturally rise.
The newly introduced content is called ‘Puvilla Pang.’ It is a simple game where players match and pop three or more of the same characters within a time limit. Achieving a score of 1,500 points or more in one game grants a chance to participate in a roulette. Depending on the roulette result, players can receive a 3,000 KRW or 1,000 KRW discount coupon for F&B. Furthermore, the top 30 customers ranked weekly will be given a chance to participate in a roulette where they can win up to 30,000 Shinsegae Department Store reward points.
In addition to Puvilla Pang, there is also ‘Puvilla Rally,’ a game where players flick a Puvilla ball by moving a stick. Playing both games doubles the shopping benefits.
Puvilla has been active across various fields including fashion, cosmetics, and sports, creating touchpoints with customers. Puvilla was created in 2017 through a collaboration between Dutch artist Rike van der Voorst and Shinsegae, and has since partnered with well-known domestic and international brands. In June, the French contemporary brand IRO featured vibrant prints of Puvilla and friends enjoying summer vacation on T-shirts and pouches.
Lee Seong-hwan, Executive Director of Sales Strategy at Shinsegae Department Store, said, “We are launching mobile app games featuring Shinsegae Department Store’s representative character Puvilla to add fun and enjoyment to shopping benefits for customers. Going forward, Shinsegae will continue to introduce unique content to captivate diverse customer groups.”
