'Last War: Survival' Tops Sales, Surpassing Lineage M
Among the top 10 domestic mobile games by revenue in the first half of this year, foreign games occupied five spots, including the number one position.
According to the '2024 First Half Domestic Mobile Game Market Report' by global app market analytics firm Sensor Tower on the 9th, 'Last War: Survival,' serviced by Chinese game company First Fun, surpassed NCSoft's 'Lineage M' to rank first in domestic mobile game revenue for the first half of this year.
Additionally, Joynet Games' idle game 'Beoseotkeo Kiugi' (Mushroom Care) ranked third, Century Games' 'WOS: Whiteout Survival' ranked fifth, Supercell's 'Brawl Stars' ranked seventh, and Dream Games' 'Royal Match' ranked eighth, making a total of five foreign games in the top 10 revenue rankings.
In particular, for 'Beoseotkeo Kiugi,' 34% of its total revenue of $350 million (approximately 480 billion KRW) came from the Korean market, representing the largest share.
Sensor Tower explained that this dominance of foreign games in the revenue rankings is the first occurrence since 2017.
The total number of mobile game downloads slightly decreased compared to last year.
The number of mobile game downloads in the Korean market in the first half of this year was 190 million, down 19 million from the same period last year. Downloads from the Google Play Store decreased by 17%, while those from the Apple App Store increased by 17%.
