Visit to HCT and SK Hynix Local Subsidiaries for Meeting
"Will Strengthen Exchanges to Support Overseas Expansion of Local Companies"
To strengthen exchange and cooperation with overseas sister and friendship cities, Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province, currently on a business trip to the United States, visited Silicon Valley to explore the establishment of a global cooperation network in the semiconductor industry.
According to Icheon City on the 9th, Mayor Kim, who is on a business trip to the U.S. at the official invitation of sister city Santa Fe and friendship city Santa Clara, visited HCT Inc.'s U.S. branch and SK Hynix's local sales office in San Jose, Silicon Valley, on the 8th (local time).

HCT is a testing, certification, and calibration service company located in the Icheon area. Mayor Kim held a meeting with the executives of HCT's U.S. branch to discuss expanding overseas markets and cooperation plans with Silicon Valley big tech companies. Kevin Park, a city council member of Santa Clara, also attended the meeting. Mayor Kim said, "I feel proud that local companies are steadily growing by entering the global markets such as the U.S.," and added, "We will continue active exchange activities with Santa Clara City to expand the global market for companies in the future."
Mayor Kim also held a meeting with executives including Vice President Oh Jung-hwan at SK Hynix's San Jose U.S. sales office. At the meeting, Mayor Kim stated, "We are considering fostering the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor industry as a new industry for Icheon City's future growth," and added, "The city will provide wholehearted support so that SK Hynix can become a global leader in the AI semiconductor industry."
