Changwon City Leads Localization of Drone Manufacturing Technology
Taking Swift Steps to Revitalize the Domestic Drone Industry

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, visited the National Assembly on the 9th to request government funding for the localization of drone manufacturing technology. At the meeting, National Assembly member Choi Hyung-du and Yoon Young-bin, Commissioner of the Korea Aerospace Administration, were also present.

"We Will Lead the Localization of Drones" ... Changwon Mayor Hong Nam-pyo Requests National Funding at National Assembly Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special Mayor, Choi Hyungdoo, National Assembly Member, and Yoon Youngbin, Space Aviation Agency Director, are exchanging opinions.

The city aims to strengthen national competitiveness by achieving 100% localization of drone manufacturing for the revitalization of the domestic drone industry.


To this end, the city plans to establish infrastructure for drone technology development and demonstration, strengthen cooperation with companies and research institutions, and advance drone technology as well as create new models.


In addition, the city expects to attract companies and investments to the region by fostering the drone manufacturing and related parts industries.


The city plans to enhance its recognition and play a leading role in creating a domestic drone industry ecosystem by generating drone-related jobs and revitalizing the economy.


Mayor Hong emphasized to the National Assembly members, "Currently, drone manufacturing relies mostly on foreign technology. Going forward, Changwon Special City will take the lead in achieving 100% localization of drone manufacturing and contribute to the revitalization of the domestic drone industry."
