Yeongdeok County to Open Seven Beaches Simultaneously on the 12th Goraebul Beach, Yeongdeok County.

These beaches will be open for 38 days until August 18, generally from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, during the peak season from July 20 to August 4, operating hours will be extended until 7:30 p.m.

To welcome summer visitors, Yeongdeok County has prepared a variety of activities at Goraebul Beach, including a beach soccer tournament from August 8 to 11, a beach singing contest, and a lily picking experience.

At Daejin Beach, there will be a youth gathering, a flatfish bare-handed catching experience, and a lily picking event. Jangsa Beach will feature a permanent children's bubble pool, and every weekend, a beach festival with Choi Gijeong will be held to create memorable summer experiences.

Additionally, to ensure a safe and healthy summer vacation, Yeongdeok County has conducted water quality tests for harmful bacteria such as Enterococcus and E. coli, as well as sand tests for hazardous heavy metals. All tests have been deemed satisfactory. During the beach opening period, additional inspections will be conducted biweekly to maintain strict hygiene standards.

Furthermore, during the beach season, beach cleaners will be operated to keep the beaches clean and in good condition. To prevent the sudden increase of toxic jellyfish and shark sightings due to abnormal weather, barrier nets and mesh nets have been installed as precautionary measures.

In particular, to prevent accidents, joint on-site training has been conducted for safety management personnel in collaboration with Uljin Maritime Police Station. A total of about 127 personnel, including lifeguards, military, police, coast guard, and fire department staff, will be deployed on site. After sunset, patrols will be intensified to ensure safety and prevent accidents.

County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "By maintaining a close cooperative system with Yeongdeok Police Station, Uljin Maritime Police Station, Yeongdeok Fire Station, and the operations committee, we will do our utmost to operate safe beaches with the primary goal of achieving zero accidents."
